1925-26	Guangdong - Hong Kong General Strike
1935	Urban Council	Sanitary Board (潔淨局) was renamed to Urban Council. Some of the local citizens could be the jurors to vote
1946	Young Plan	Increase the number of unofficial members in Legislative Council
1950s	Localization of Civil service	Increase the local representatives in civil services. Outcome: 16.3% members are Chinese in 1964.
1960s- 1980s	Start develop New Towns	Tsuen Wan (1960)，Sha Tin (1976)，Tuen Mun (1976)，Yseung Kwan O (1987)，Tin Shui Wai (1987) etc…
1966-67	Hong Kong 1966-67 riot	It was triggered by and ticket price increase of Star Ferry Cultural revolution and made the government introduced social reforms.
1968	City District Officer Scheme	Receive complaints from the citizens and provide consultancy services to enhance communication with the citizens.
1960s	Different Advisory Committees were set up to reflect citizen’s opinions before policies-making.
1971	Public Assistance Scheme	Provide financial assistance to the people living in poverty.

1972	10-year Housing Programe	Enhance the supply of housing with complete facilities.
	Disability and Infirmity Allowance
1974	ICAC	Handle with corruption problem
	Chinese language became official language in court.
1976	Hone Ownership Scheme	Further improve citizen’s living standard
1978	Nine-year Compulsory Education
1982	First direct election held in District Boards. All HK citizens aged above 21 were eligible to vote.
1983	First direct election held in Urban Council. All HK citizens aged above 21 were eligible to vote.
1984	Sino-British declaration	It sets up the direction of ‘Hong Kong people ruling Hong Kong’ and ‘One country, two system’.
1985	First indirect election was held in Legislative Council. 12 seats were elected by members of District Board and Urban Councils. 12 sears were elected by functional constituencies.
1986	Regional Council	Part of seats were elected by geographical constituencies.
1991	First direct election was held in Legislative Council. 18 seats were elected by geographical constituencies while 18 seats were elected by functional constituencies.
1995	Wholly election was held in Legislative Council. 20 sears were elected by geographical constituencies while 30 seats were elected by functional constituencies.
